Happy New Year! I wrote this new year inspired song specifically for this open mic, and want to thank this community for such an amazing opportunity to be able to express myself!

“A New Year to start fresh, and to truly express,
The thoughts we have always loved, but would at times forget.
So much has been built, now the foundation is set,
And the time is right now for us to truly go get,
Whatever has been calling our hearts toward,
It's time to take a deep breath, step up, and move all ourselves forward,
The ship is taking off, and it's our last chance to board,
Soon we'll take flight and see our beautiful wings soar.
We've done all of this work, and have been through so much,
