Open Mic Week 41 - Original - Uncivilized Civilization - Aaron Michael Daley

This is an original tune i've been working on for a few years. Both videos are from when i was still living outdoors a couple years ago. The way things are going it won't be long before i'm back out there. such is life.

Nearly lost my mind searching for signs of justification
all the tortured lives and blatant lies needed reconciliation
now it blows my mind with so many documented explanations
we could be such and ignorant uncivilized civilization

now i recognize why most people don't want to see it
when you've worked your entire life just so you can fit in
then you come to find once again you've been tricked in
to an endless life of debt when you meant to enjoy it

as i found my way through the truly faked
historic mistakes of the human race
our history a mystery to us
rewritten by the victorious

I can not help but see
a conundrum of world hypocrisy
War machines masquerading
as civilized societies
I don't see why we should be
subjected to this insanity
How can anyone expect me
to take this nonsense seriously

Cause I don't
And I never will

Now we might be fine if we really paid attention
YA but who has time with Snapchat Vine and ESPN
and that would be just fine except for this mess that we're all in
we're losing all our rights to a system trusted to defend them

but lets suppose we did away with capitalism
we'd still have to 86 these Fascist forms of socialism
till we're only left with dictators and anarchism
so many tried and failed isms with no progressive vision

cause as the politicians reiterate and deliberate
in there bicker debates
they're never really gonna change a thing
as long as they're pawns of corporatocracy

I can not help but see

I'm convinced we have the tools to change if we tried
with the ingenuity usually marginalized
proven methods to sustain and revitalize
idea's of no value to a corporate eye

we could end the scarcity caused by inefficient manipulators
with resource based economies and free clean power
urban food forests put edible plants in every garden
zero waste worker co-ops, real healthcare, no more drugs for profit

peace is so much more than a fantasy
the pieces are there in this reality
the hardest thing we really need to change
is the way our mind is perceiving things
