Logon problems

Once again, like last month, and a couple of months before, I'm encountering nothing but problems trying to logon to my bitshares account, getting the "failed to sync" and init-error problems that somehow resolved themselves, whether or not it had anything to do with network attacks of whatever flavor. Does anyone have the slightest clue why this keeps happening? I'll force sync (unnecessarily) to internet time manually, and the problem isn't resolved (both the web and local interface will return the init-error long before it can sync).
I'm really just playing around with this, but since last summer somehow managed a nearly 5X return for throwing a few piddling shekels of fake fiat on the exchange, far better than just BTC's performance.
