Liquids output increases in Kazakhstan following maintenance - OPEC

Liquids output in Kazakhstan increased by 0.27 million barrels a day month-on-month to average 1.93 million barrels a day in October, following the end of maintenance in the Tengiz field and higher flows from two main fields, including the Kashagan, Trend reports citing the OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report - December 2021.

Oil output from Tengiz, the country’s largest oil field, averaged 0.6 million barrels a day prior to maintenance in August and September.

Kazakh crude production recovered by 0.19 million barrels a day month-on-month in October to average 1.57 million barrels a day, the highest output since April 2020, and higher by 0.16 million barrels a day year-on-year.

At the same time, production of condensate and NGLs was up by 77,000 barrels a day month-on-month to average 357,000 barrels a day in October. This was lower by 16,000 barrels a day compared to 1Q2021 at 373,000 barrels a day.

Kazakhstan’s liquids supply forecast for 2021 is estimated to have declined by 0.01 million barrels a day and average 1.82 million barrels a day, while for 2022, liquids supply is forecast to grow by 0.16 million barrels a day to average 1.98 million barrels a day.
