It’s always good to have more than one revenue source when it comes to these short of things. Will be interesting seeing how people approach using multiple platforms at once. Will they try and get away with posting similar content in both places. Will one place be for one kind of audience while another is different.
I can also only hope this will be a bit of a wakeup call for those sleeping at the helm here. They seem to just be delegating off there SP holding to bidbots without much care of what it’s supporting. Content creators will go where they feel the most welcomed and valued.
Will be interesting to see just how many advertisements are going funnel down to the little guys. Will they give into fear of their ads running in unknown places who knows what kind of content leading to issues seen on YouTube.
I just love the fact there seems to be a fair amount of control for content creators from sounds of it in terms of ads. Keeping the fans happy while still allowing a creator to earn something for their work without ads decreasing the experience to the point everyone is just in a lose lose situation. Infected bad ads can really hurt a startup like this so I’m glad it sounds like they are putting resources and a system to catching and weeding those out as soon as they happen.
Overall looks great, They seem to want to empower creators and try and avoided many pitfalls in the process that other platforms have. The 50/50 for first 5 years is rather interesting. That is rather a long time to hold till the burning and what everyone can hope is massive spikes in prices.
