Nigeria has a lot of Nigerians in it. So many (179 million) that if you took half of them out of the country, Nigeria would still have the highest population of any African country.

Things I Learned in Nigeria

Religion and Ethnicity

Nigeria is one of these complicated countries that’s about 1/2 Muslim and half Christian, and even as most of the populace is satisfactory with this, religious extremists create a number of violence and spoil everything.

Land

Nigeria is the area's 32nd largest USA in terms of land region or approximately California’s. On top of the US, it can encompass New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.

Economy

With a nominal GDP of simply over half of a thousand billion, Nigeria has Africa’s biggest financial system, typically because of its big oil reserves—it’s the arena’s eighth biggest exporter of crude oil. But with a profoundly corrupt government, that wealth isn’t doing very lots for the people—the infrastructure’s a mess, 24% of adults are unemployed, and two out of three Nigerians stay in severe poverty. Nigeria’s median per capita earnings of $493 means that a Nigerian who makes $10/week is in the pinnacle half of wealth inside the United States of America.
