One Photo Every Day: Greetings from a yellow Hibiscus (134/365), สวัสดีกับดอกชบาสีเหลือง, The OPED project.

This yellow hibiscus caught me by surprised as I was walking briskly to the bank. I had to stop and listen to what this flower had to say to me! She was reminding me to be cheerful and slow down a little. I thanked her for her friendly message and told her how beautiful she was before she would wither away the following day.

ดอกชบาสีเหลืองเรียกให้เราหยุดเพื่อฟังว่าเธอมีอะไรจะบอกเราบ้าง เธอบอกให้มีความรื่นเริงและให้เดินช้าลงหน่อย ไม่คาดคิดมาก่อนว่าจู่ๆจะมีดอกชบาสีสดใสในกระถางเก่าๆใบนี้ เราขอบคุณเธอและชมว่าเธอสวยมากๆ ก่อนที่เธอจะร่วงโรยในวันต่อไป

One Photo Every Day: Offerings to the old Indian rubber tree (135/365), ของบูชาต้นยางอินเดียเก่าแก่, the OPED project.

It is customary for Thai people to offer some kind of drink and sweet or food to those spirits living in the old trees. This Indian rubber tree is more than fifty feet tall; it was probably planted at the time of the construction of the building nearby. Thai people believe there are spirits in almost everything, especially trees, banana trees called Tanee, old houses, old statues and monuments. So, we would often find bottle water, flowers, sweets, fruits and some food at the base of old trees and statues. For this case, it seems that people have shown a lot of respect by installing a shelf for placing their daily offerings. Fresh coconuts are rather expensive when compared with bottle water. And the spirits of this old tree got two! They must have sent a special request by appearing in the dreams of someone around here.

คนไทยมีความเชื่อว่ามีวิญญาณหรือ สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์อาศัยอยู่ตามต้นไม้ใหญ่ เช่นต้นโพธิ์ และต้นไทร แม้กระทั่งต้นกล้วยตาณี และตาทมบ้านเรือนเก่าๆ ตลอดจนรูปปั้นและอนุสาวรีย์ที่เก่ามากๆ ก็อาจจะมี วิญญาณ สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และเทวดาประทับอยู่ด้วยก็ได้ เราจึงเห็นสิ่งของสักการะ และบูชาตามต้นไม้ใหญ่ เสมอๆ แต่ที่ต้นยางอินเดียที่มหึมาต้นนี้มีคนเคารพมาก ถึงขนาดทำชั้นไว้วางของถวายในแต่ละวัน ต้นไม้นี้สูงกว่า 50 ฟุต ลำต้นคงต้องใช้คนมากกว่าห้าคนมาโอบถึงจะรอบ แถมของที่ถวายก็พิเศษและแพงกว่า น้ำขวดและน้ำหวาน ท่านได้มะพร้าวน้ำหอมสองลูก แสดงว่าคงมีการไปเข้าในฝันของใครสักคนเพื่อให้จัดของโปรดมาให้ คนแถวนี้คงอบอุ่นมากที่มีท่านที่ต้นไม้คอยดูแลปกปักษ์รักษาให้อยู่ดีมีสุข

One Photo Every Day: Quartz crystal on my table (136/365), หินที่ตั้งอยู่บนโต๊ะ, the OPED project.

This rock quartz has been with me over ten years. I got this from an old Malaysian friend who was returning home to Malaysia. She was very knowledgeable about crystals and she introduced me to the crystal world. So, I ended up with many pieces from her collection. Through time and experiments, I found out that I could communicate or talk to some rocks or crystals. It took me several years to believe in the power of crystals and their healing power. My friend’s younger sister taught me a lot about this energy aspect of crystals for she is exceptionally psychic. At first, she had a fair game in testing me on various things before she completely trusted me in the sense that I wouldn’t steal her precious collections and she also told me a few secrets. We used to play reading the colours of people’s auras. I would change my aura colours and she would give the correct answer each time. There was another old English lady who was also very psychic but later she tended to dabble with some Khamare’s magician whom I did not trust. So, she could not get further in her spiritual development. But that magician was very strong and psychic; so people were attracted to him for the sake of magical power. I am glad to have my crystal-friends to look after me and give me energy every day.

หินก้อนนี้อยู่ด้วยกันมานานเกือบสิบปี เราได้มาจากเพื่อนชาวมาเลย์ที่กำลังขนของย้ายกลับบ้าน เธอเป็นคนแรกที่สอนเราเรื่องหินเหล่านี้ เราเลยได้หินสะสมส่วนตัวของเธอมาหลายรายการ แต่น้องสาวของเธอเป็นคนที่มีสัมผัสพิเศษมากจริงๆ และเป็นคนสอนเราเรื่องพลังของหินต่างๆ และการใช้พลังหินในการบำบัดตนเอง กว่าจะสนิทกันได้ก็ต้องโดนทดสอบและลองใจหลายอย่างจเธอไว้ใจให้เข้าบ้านได้ เพราะเราไม่ไปหยิบหินมีค่ามากมายของเธอ เราเลยได้ของขวัญมาหลายชิ้น เธอเหมือนมีตาวิเศษที่สามารถมองเห็นแสงที่ออกมาจากตัวคน และเห็นวิญญาณง่ายมากๆ จนเราต้องมีการทดลองความสามารถของเธอ เธอจะรู้ว่าเราอยากได้หินอะไร และมักจะหยิบมาให้โดยไม่ต้องเอ่ยปาก นอกจากนี้ยังมีแหม่มฝรั่งอีกคนหนึ่งที่มีสัมผัสพิเศษมากๆ แต่ตอนหลังเธอไปคบกับหมอเขมรที่มีการเล่นอิทธิฤทธิ์ ซึ่งเราไม่ค่อยไว้ใจเขาเท่าไร แหม่มก็เลยไม่สามารถพัฒนาด้านจิตวิญญาณให้งอกงามได้ แต่ต้องยอมรับว่าหมอเขมรคนนี้มีพลังมากจริงๆ ทำให้คนหลายคนเข้าหา เพราะเรื่องคาถาอาคมและมนต์ต่างๆ เราเองเดินสายขาวหรือสายสว่าง ต้องมีศีล นั้นจึงอยู่รอดปลอดภัย และมีหินคอยปกป้อง จากพลังไม่สะอาด และเติมพลังให้เราสดใสทุกวันด้วย
