Yesterday was a very good day to get some gold from my favourite gold shop in Bangkok.

The price of gold has been consistently lowered during the past two weeks due to efforts of the elites' shorting of gold prices by using derivatives and gold certificates. From a contrarian point of view, gold does look rather bullish in the near future. I have been following news on this site for quite some time including ZeroHedge website. Greg Hunter's Youtube channel is also very informative on what's happening on the economic troubles looming over the horizon.

With the coming of hyper inflation by the end of this year, it means that my Thai Baht will be losing its value very fast. Actually, I can see the falling value of Thai Baht whenever I go shopping. I could also see the weak exchange rate has affected the steady price of gold instead of it becoming much lowered according to the market price in dollars; the strong dollars have made Thai Baht much weaker. So, I have been telling my close friends to get some gold bars, preferably small ones such as one gram gold bars. If worse comes to worse next year, these small gold bars would come in very handy while those savings in banks would just depreciate drastically. The effect of inflation can be felt quite strongly when I want to have some repair done to my country house. The cost of building materials has gone up more than ten percent during the last few months. This week, there are so many mid-year sales in Bangkok, I have been shopping for necessary and durable goods which have their prices reduced by at least 50 percents or more. People are complaining to me wherever I go that the economy is very bad this year. I have told them to be prepared for very bad economic news by the end of this year. I wish things would not turn out so bad, but after reading and listening to all the analytical news, I really could not see how we could escape the inevitable outcome some time in the near future.

I am praying silently almost everyday for divine intervention. But I wonder whether we as humans deserve to get the miraculous divine blessings in times of serious needs. Looking at the bright colour of gold and nicely designed gold jewelries gives me a warm and comforting feeling somehow. Such work by human hands, the goldsmith would have spent long hours creating all these intricate work. Such patience and dedication by these people who belong to the old world of craftsmanship. There will be no experienced goldsmith left for the next generation, everything would become computerised and digitised.

เมื่อวานนี้เป็นวันที่เหมาะกับการซื้อทองคำแท่ง ราคาทองตกลงมาอยู่ในระดับนี้มาได้สองสัปดาห์แล้ว ความจริงราคาควรจะตํ่ากว่านี้ แต่เพราะค่าเงินบาทตกลงมามาก แม้ว่าราคาทองในตลาดโลกจะตํ่าลงมากก็ไม่ได้ทำให้เราซื้อทองในราคาที่ถูกมากกว่านี้ ค่าเงินดอลลาร์ที่แข็งขึ้นเมื่อเทียบกับราคาของเงินบาท ทำให้สะท้อนถึงอัตราเงินเฟ้อที่สูงขึ้นเป้นเงาตามตัว เวลาไปซื้อของกินจะเห็นได้ว่าเราจ่ายราคาเท่าเดิมแต่ได้ของในปริมาณที่ลดลงมาก คนที่เรารู้จักที่ทำธุระกิจจะบ่นให้ฟังทุกครั้งว่าเศรษฐกิจแย่มาก เราก็เตือนให้เตรียมรับมือกับสภาพที่เลวร้ายในสิ้นปีนี้ไว้ด้วย เราอยากให้พวกเขาวางแผนกันไว้บ้าง

เราได้ติดตามอ่านบทวิเคราะห์และฟังข่าวจากต่างประเทศ อย่างต่อเนื่อง ทำให้เราเข้าใจ และได้เห็นข้อเท็จจริง และตัวเลขทางเสรษฐกิจและภาวะหนี้สินของรัฐบาลหลายประเทศ ทำให้เราค่อนข้างแน่ใจว่า พวกเราไม่มีทางหลีกเลี่ยงวิกฤตทางเศรษฐกิจที่จะโจมตีพวกเราในอนาคตอันใกล้ได้เลย ค่าของธนบัตรจะตกตํ่าลงเรื่อยๆ ฉะนั้นเราจึงจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ต้องมีทองคำแท่งชิ้นเล็กๆไว้เป็นหลักประกันความอยู่รอด เราบอกให้เพื่อนสะสมแค่ก้อนละหนึ่งกรัม ซึ่งมีราคาราวพันกว่าบาทเท่านั้น แล้วค่อยขยับเป็นหนึ่งสลึง จนถึงก้อนละหนึ่งบาท

ตอนนี้มีการลดราคาแบบครึ่งปีตามห้างใหญ่ๆในกรุงเทพฯ เราก็เริ่มตุนของที่จำเป็นในราคาลดลงห้าสิบเปอร์เซนต์ เพราะถ้าเลยช่วงเวลานี้ไปแล้วเราคิดว่าราคาของจะปรับขึ้นอีกมาก เราสังเกตได้จากราคาวัสดุก่อสร้างที่ใช้ในการซ่อมบ้าน ราคาขยับทุกสามเดือน ฉะนั้นถ้าต้องทำอะไรเกี่ยวกับบ้านตอนนี้ก็ต้องรีบทำก่อนค่าใช้จ่ายจะขยับขึ้นไปอีก เราก็พยายามภาวนาให้สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ช่วยผ่อนหนักเป็นเบาในอนาคต แต่ก็อดสงสัยไม่ได้ว่ามนุษย์เราคู่ควรกับการให้ความช่วยเหลือหรือไม่ การได้ดูงานที่ทำจากทองคำโดยช่างทองรุ่นเก่า ทำให้เรามีความสบายใจมาก และอดนึกถึงการทำงานด้วยความตั้งใจ ทุ่มเท และอดทนของช่างมีฝีมือเหล่านี้ไม่ได้ คนรุ่นต่อไปจะไม่มีช่างทองที่มีฝีมือแบบนี้อีกแล้ว คนรุ่นใหม่จะมีแต่ของที่ทำด้วยระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ และระบบอัตโนมัติ จิตวิญญาณของความเป็นช่างฝีมือจะกลายเป็นแค่ความทรงจำเท่านั้น
