In my opinion especially with the slow interface is and how incredibly fustrating to upload a video. I never expect upvotes from them but I never expect for them to take 25% of your rewards... Not fair to great content creators like you and small fish like me. Upvotes makes it ok kind of. The bugs are really bad from 3 weeks ago. It takes 5 hours to upload a 5 min video. 5 mins on YouTube and its free. Dlive is working better for me than dtube 100x over
I think in the grand scheme of things DTube is good for Steemit and it will be a cool platform, it's great to have a Youtube alternative but personally I don't use for the reasons you mentioned.
Not only as a creator but even watching videos sometimes. I was watching a video last weekend and it was skipping and buffering so much I finally gave up 2 minutes in even though it was something I really wanted to watch.
Yeah I was all about dtube even with the 25% off the top when I found out after the fact where all my rewards money was going LOL but I really just can't use it I spend hours and hours just trying to upload a video and I mean maybe it could be my internet service provider throttling it but I'm hearing about the same issue all over the platform
I know @kenanqhd was experiencing the same problems with his internet speeds in china. I have pretty fast internet at my office and still run into the same issues
Dtube needs to fix their platform even more before they advertise as a competitor to YouTube or a better alternative or even take 25% of your rewards money for a beta program for a beta program.
Wait I didn't know that part. How does the 25% of your rewards work? They take 25% first and then the curators take 25%? Is that how it works?
It had to do with the last hard Fork. I'm not an expert on it I'm just now finding out about it. I still would be okay with it the whole 25% off the top if the platform was fully functioning and wasn't such a hassle to upload a 5 minute video but still even then 25% is a hefty cut it's like do you want to support the man or a random dude. I don't know Im still a little frustrated with dtube not letting us know that is taking so much up front off the top and most importantly the countless of hours I spent just trying to upload a video multiple times...i beleive the curators still get it off the top im sorry for using catchy term. You just share 25% with dtube after curation i beleive
Does Dlive take 25% as well?
Im pretty sure its 0% but from what I understand to upload a video you do have to have a smaller video size but when I you livestream it's no problem no hassles
In all fairness i half suspect my isp is throttling dtube, However steemians around the world continues to have these same issues
Thanks for all of your info! I was wondering why my rewards were dropping. It was really messing with my math and I thought I had gone crazy lol. Dtube need to make it a point to let people know that they are taking 25% of their rewards. I never knew this info until now. Well until things change or Dtube actually becomes fully functional without being so buggy, I will not being using them any longer.
I say this more as an observation than issuing a criticism, however, what I've been seeing for the better part of a month uploading here, is that roughly the same 18 to 23 people each day are on the featured page. They can also be found in the Hot Videos and Trending category too. I'm incredibly happy for them and their success. I'm starting to wonder if by virtue of Dtube being decentralized if we haven't shifted to a clique arena where Steempower keeps particular people on the featured page indefinitely.
I have to say that I'm incredibly grateful for the support and powerups I get, however, I've never seen any of my work on the Dtube featured page, much less in the #gaming list selection. I'm a daily uploader, but of course, I'm doing Let's Play so I have a little bit of an advantage, but I also do Vlogs and How To's.
My other concern is when I've been upvoted I've received messages in my Wallet History or messages in general, that if I give .700 SBD to X Whale Group or Whale Person I'll be added in a memo, promoted and insured to be seen by 8k followers. That can be a very tantalizing offer for someone new looking to get ahead. It almost reminds me of MCN's on YouTube.
I enjoy the platform and I do my fair share of hustle, so maybe one day I'll get a video in the featured section.
As much as I'd like to do a video every day, I'm just not able to between doing freelance web development, working in retail, and then having to rely on public transportation to get from place to place and spending some time with my girlfriend when I can. It's not practical for me with my schedule and the way I do my videos. And since I do tech videos and I the way I plan it out, it takes time. Maybe it's not the kind of thing that DTube wants. I'm not interested in posting every day, but in providing good content when I have it ready.
I am finding some success on DLive. And I think for a tech channel, maybe that kind of thing might be more appreciated there. I don't know. I could totally be wrong. But so far, the signs seem to point in that direction.
I do think I'll continue to post to DTube but probably have DLive as my main platform.
Still, though, the other tech tubers who have come from Youtube aren't even posting as often as I am here on Steemit and DTube. Joker Productions and Tek Syndicate I'm thinking of specificially. Yet I keep posting. It seems they're primarily focused on Youtube. Maybe even if I'm not posting every day, at least tech content is getting on DTube for those who are interested.
Thanks for the video reseller yes Dtube is buggy but it is getting better and better.
The D alone has a long lasting character ! focus on that image ! D is a very attractive logo , the "tube sounds like a msm narrative for tv stations ! Plus it can ride on the image of democrats in 2020 and it shows appeal to an anime series one piece clothing will put you guys on the map if you know style ! But if you guys were serious limited edition low cut sneakers would be more of a youthful appeal ! If this was helpful then thank you for reading my respones !
I think I see a future trend !
Before they run out !
I went cheap and got the red/black puma low cut ! Repect the likeness !
Dude im totally making some Dtube kicks!
you should have a D logo design sketch competition ! This platform is screaming with talent !
Good advice Reseller. Just gotta keep going, complaining wont change it.
