Health Hazards After The Flooding in Texas Are Now Lurking For Everyone Closely Involved, So Be Careful
It should not be a surprise to anyone, and even if you were never told by the "experts" in charge. But after hurricane Harvey did his business in the USA state of Texas, there are still the dangers that follow. My advise would be to use your brain if you live in the area. That includes using common sense and realizing that the toxic waste that lurks in the waters and everything it touched if the water went down is still somewhat present. I would suggest to throw everything away. Unless you simply just can't do without it and it's not destroyed beyond recognition and you can somehow sterilize it, then it's not worth the health risks.
On the news this evening they are showing some of the people going back to see what they can salvage out of their destroyed homes. I can understand them wanting to see what they can save, I would probably want to do that myself. But when it comes to trying to salvage some of the materials that have been covered in severe sludge you would most likely heed your own natural instincts and not try to use much of anything like that anymore. Lots of people want to save valuables and even heirlooms, they mean so much to them even covered in the nastiness that was left behind after the flooding has gone. It's a heartfelt situation that would make me sad if I couldn't get at least one thing back. So I can relate, I'm not being totally dismissive of the fact we just need our "stuff" that we have lost sometimes.
I feel for these people who try to get what they lost back if they can, but they know they are dealing with the worst possible diseases when they try this. If they were in that water themselves up to their knees or more they were all unknowingly taking a huge chance their health and usually by no fault of theirs. They didn't have a choice, no one really did who lived there. Lots of people had to wade through all of that massive toxic water and get to a safer ground to survive. Some people will experience such things as rashes and other ailments after not too long.
There are also the worries of how to get their medications if they just had to flee without bringing them or getting them refilled. Lots of places where medicines were refilled haven't gotten their deliveries in because of the flooding. Businesses like that might have even been destroyed forever. That is so worrisome too, some people are probably suffering with their health because of it. We can just pray for them to be on track again with their lives sooner than later. Hard to believe Harvey happened just ten days ago.

Thank you for the news updates @anne4farmer
I so hope things will be better soon.
I heard there's a new hurricane which hits Florida?
It is sooo heartbreaking. I know how it feels like, I was already a victim of such typhoons. I have no words but lifting our friends up in prayer. Praying that God calms the storm. Much love to all of you.
