I was cleaning
A pile of paper
Sorting
And on the corner
Of the back of a notebook
There were a few words,
A list:

Hunt for Gollum
Dead Marshes
Conflict at Carrock
Hills of Emyn Muil
Journey to Rhosgobel

And a phone number
To the music store
Which also sells movies and games
And funny magnets

I knew your handwriting
And I knew you
And I had to keep that old notebook
With only a few pages left in it
And no top cover
And I look at the words
When I pass it
And remember you
And remember you sitting making notes
About random things
