This photo was taken in the mountains of East Timor, on a Sunday. Women from the nearer villages were walking to the mass. They walk miles with their best outfits. Children go too. Man stay at home, usually doing nothing or organizing cock fights.
Who among you knows what cock fights are about? In Asia people are still fond of them and make bets. Only men are allowed to be present on these events.

This is an impressive shot. I would probably need to look for some old-timers to take. The details of their beauty through life is priceless.

For these women it may seem like just another Sunday's walk to mass ~ But for us now viewing it ~ It's such a thought provoking moment in time.
The central woman, so elegant, walking with so much dignity. And all the other people in various actions, add to the drama of the 'moment.' Resteemed.
Thanks a lot for your comment and resteem! In fact, women in ET, especially the ones of the interior, in the mountains, have such a dignity that amazes me all the time. So interesting that you highlighted precisely that. ET is a country 98% catholic and people live their religion like they still lived in the past, with all the rituals and obligations that nowadays catholics no longer practice. Churches in ET are always the best and bigger buildings of any village. I will publish a post about this! Thanks!!!!!
