On a rainy night in 1986, a man named Dae Su was abducted. After the abduction, he was confined to a cell. Meanwhile, he received the news of his wife's death. He is accused of killing his wife. Dae Shu tries hard to escape. But somehow he was able to succeed.
After 15 years of confinement, he was suddenly released one day. Who or what has been holding him back for the last 15 years and trying to find the answers to all the questions. Dae Su is introduced to one of these young women.
A love affair developed between Dae Su and the young woman. Dae Su tries to find her daughter. However, by releasing him from captivity, the detainee created a new game in his life. The detainee had detained Dae Su for his own purposes. And this purpose is very terrible.
This movie was the 2nd installment of Vengeance Trilogy. Director Park Chan-Wook has made the movie stand out. There was a lot of animosity between Dae Su and the two characters who captured her. Violence predominates in the movie, revealing the brutality between the characters.
Choi Min-Sik, who played the lead role for some time in the first part of the movie, could not understand what was really going on with him. As a spectator I was also confused.
But as the story progresses, so does the confusion. And everything becomes clear. His brutality is highlighted by his resentment and strong desire for revenge.
The cinematography of the movie was also great. The use of mid shots in a restaurant scene is extremely nice. In the beginning, Choi Min-Sik is seen lighting a cigarette in a fighting scene.
Then the use of close shots creates a different feeling. The main character is also presented in a very powerful way.
The few action scenes in the movie were very good. I like the action very much. Again, he was seen beating everyone alone with a hammer in his hand. The scenes were very stylish and exciting.
There was an exciting atmosphere throughout the movie. Find answers to Choi Min-Sik questions. The answer to every question was a twist. And it increases the level of thrill in the movie.
Almost everyone who has seen a Korean movie has seen this movie. Many did not like the ending of the movie. But as a movie I really enjoyed it.
