Traditional Art Contest I Theme “Woman” - Title “Self Portrait”
Hello this is my entry. I was so thrilled to see this type of a contest I could enter into. I enjoy portrait drawing or painting. I lean towards drawing babies or small children. I love to capture their unlimited expressions in their eyes.
I intended to use Derwent colored pencils for the completion of this self portrait, but I didn’t have some of the colors that I needed. This portrait was all simply draw with one graphite HB2 pencil, a metal Helix hand pencil sharpener, smudger and a kneaded eraser.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I enjoy drawing portraits and when I came across this contest I was originally going to draw a portrait of my 26 year old daughter, but then I decided that maybe the contestants and readers of this post might like to see the artist behind the drawing. That is why I chose a self portrait. As stated above I really enjoy drawing eyes.
