Fungi ARE amazing!

We see them all around us, Mycelium, and Fungi growing in their unique way.

Whether you love them or hate them, Mushrooms play a vital role on our planet, building soil, creating biodiversity, and supporting life in all sorts of ways.

Mushrooms are used in medicine, in the Chinese traditional medicines, mushrooms help with digestion, and can even inhibit tumor growth!

We here in the usa, see only a small number of mushrooms in our stores relative to other countries, fresh mushrooms spoil so fast that shipping them means shipping locally, or quickly.
We think of a blue Styrofoam with white mushroom, or maybe portobellos, people of a certain financial status think of truffels.

Here in Oregon we have morels, chanterelles, and many other edible mushrooms, people here can make quite a bit of money selling mushrooms from the woods, and local health food stores sometimes have a buying price for mushrooms posted next to the mushrooms they have for sale.

In some cultures mushrooms are used to induce a shamanic journey, opening the eyes of the neophyte to their part in tribal society.

To my mind the most exciting aspect of fungi is it's use as a bioremediator, using fungi to heal the earth is a future we are certain to see, our world is calling out for an end to the abuse, and specifically for a healing of the wrecked portions.

I believe mushrooms ARE magic!
