Ode Challenge 3 . Favourite Old T-shirt.
At point of sale it isn't clear,
If you'll be the one that I hold dear.
Love that we forged through wear and time,
I do not see your stains and grime.
To others you are just a rag,
Over sized, once worn by dad.
When I wear you I can feel him near,
Protection from all that I fear.
We've been though so much, just you and me,
Like Garth's undies, you're a part of me.
Images from the epic film Wayne's World.
Party time. Excellent 🎸🎶
One day remaining for this contest.
You still have time!
But so far this little rhyme is uncontested.
Come-on poets!
You and do it!

You just made me laugh so hard, I didn't expect Wayne's World to be involved. Next stop Bill and Ted?
Strange things are afoot at the circle K!
Then after wild stallions maybe the classics? meatballs, nerds, lampoons.
Or some Adam Sandler.
If high school exams were based on these! I'd have been an A grade student.
And police academy! Citizens on patrol was my favourite . 5 I think.
PS my kids came very close to being called Bill and Ted.
Dude, like, dude... I watched Billy Madison like 100+ times before I was a teenager. I had all the Meatballs movies on VHS. I've seen every National Lampoon movie. I'm pretty sure we must have had the same movie list growing up.
I watched it with my teen recently. I can do the whole movie.
She is learning that most of the things we say come from stupid movies. We get dumber in her eyes with every watch. Educational film night is our weekly home Ed initiative. I made her sit through Dude where's my car. Her face when he said NO AND THEN! priceless.
My partner in stooging and I had a moment. One of those moments when you know you have found The one.
We both said crapola at the same time, and referenced it.
LOL, I just saw this, ya they don't make movies like that anymore. :(
LMFAO, beyond any doubt, the best part of that movie.
I'll will do my best to come and join you on this ode challenge. That was amazing ode to a t-shirt.
Cool. I saw the resteem too. Thank you.
Do I have time for a runaway? Or have I missed it? Again!
I think deadline is tonight. I might need to wait a couple of days to judge though as I misjudged withdrawing some SBD and need to let it build up again!
That's really good. And I absolutely love the Wayne's World reference. Thank you!
Not my finest work. It was midnight here when I saw your post. I went to bed rhyming and almost got up to edit.
I see @hopehuggs and @clayboyn have produced beautiful pieces.
GAME ON!
Great poem :-)
