The most famous bar in Romania

in #ocd-resteem6 years ago (edited)

One would think that in a country like Romania, where everybody tries to look something they are not, where values are upside down and money, luxury and snobbism are the driving forces of 90% of the population (this is what everybody dreams of), the most famous bar should be one of the many that sell 130.000 euro champagne.

I had to wait for the view of the entrance to be cleared. This place is like a pilgrimage place and it's full of people like a museum should be

But it's not.

Our most famous bar is in "Fierbinți Târg". That's a city that Ceaușescu transformed by force to the rank of a city. Like you would force a pigeon to become a hen and lay tens of eggs/day. It was a pretty big village but still, a village and the name, which literally means "Hot things", is really not the one that a city should have.

The bar is functional so there's nothing stopping the people in the city to come and drink one, two, ten beers on the grounds of this famous place. Best place to get drunk.

There was nothing hot about Fierbinți for decades, with the exception of the blazing sun, drying the lands all summer long. There's no Caesar's Palace in town or some famous cabaret band that would dance on the dusty streets of Fierbinți. Nothing that would turn the place into the sizzling hot avenues of gambling and partying people.
But for years now, the bar of Bobiță (you read it "Bobitzah"), at the end of the city, right by some lake, is the main attraction. This is not only for the people in Fierbinți but also for everybody else in Romania that owns a TV set.
And that's because this pub was selected by one of the private national TV broadcasters as the main happening place of the adventures of their "Las Fierbinți" TV series. A comedy that revolves around the deeds of a bunch of people from Fierbinți, typical village scenes, typical issues that people involved in this society have to deal with.

This was Sunday afternoon. I came to Fierbinți by some secondary road searching for interesting drone shots. I thought it's not gonna be easy finding this specific bar in Fiebinți but you know what? the damn place is on google maps! And because of this, the place is full of tourists. It's like you would visit a historical place. Once I made the right from the main road I was baffled by the number of people there and the number of cars that had license plates from all over the country. People in their way to the seaside stop by in order to visit the pub where Bobiță is the boss. Crazy culture we have.

Connected to the bar there's this hen place. The rooster is only tolerated here and is allowed to dwelve here only because he's a good motherfucker.

Sort:

But maybe all those visitors are hoping to be part of that TV show...? ;-)
Although the bar does look intriguing, loved that shot with a hen place, brilliant!

Yep, I think the majority of them think that Bobiță is there all the time :))

Interesting story. Did you shoot some drone photos there, by the way?

Nope. Only on the way to the place and the best I’ve posted like 2 weeks ago (the one with some flcok of sheep) :)

The one about being a shepherd? I've seen it :)

Las Fierbinti (the TV series) is reflecting, unfortunately, the 2018 reality from rural Romania. The production team and the actors are awesome at revealing with humour this "crazy culture". I'm a big fan of the series!

Yes, the people behind, writing the script, are great. Also the selected cast is great. I’m gonna take a lucky guess and say that at least 25% of the lines of Bobiță (as an example) are his own improvisations. Which only makes everything even better :)

Bobiță is a real talent as an actor and so cool as a person! I've meet him at a stand-up comedy show last year!

super tare postul tau .Deci locul din film este real

Este și este loc de pelerinaj. Se stă la coadă să se facă poze :)
