"Birds and Cages" [poem for Laura]
"Birds and cages"
Poetry by
@seifiro
Laura,
there is a solemn silence in your words,
when your curious girl's face in front of mine,
with your eyes on my eyes,
and your closed lips do not say a single word,
nor I hope that they say something to me.
Instead, I just want to hold you
as if I were looking to protect ourselves
of winter and the evil under our feet
and that our birds would never become cages
birds slayers.
Laura,
time goes by
and I remember your white face
and with intense and vivid eyes of an extravagant color,
carriers of a sincerity that your mouth lacks...
I also remember your lips painted like the wine
like the sky during the summer nuanced by the kisses
of different beauty and tentative reds
as fleeting, waiting for the impending night.
Laura,
Where am I in your heart?
Or in the labyrinths of your words?
I insist on longing to hug you
as I have never done with the world
because the world is only for me
a cracked mirror with sharp edges
where there are horrors
waiting to tear me into pieces
to kill me...
Leaving me without a second life to be reborn
by the sea, or next to the mountain, or next to the forest
or in the world again with you.
Laura,
maybe these words never cross the wind
coming to you
although the distance between us
is not more than the one of your lips next to mine...
And everything will be the same...
Lights and shadows dancing
like pictures in a kaleidoscope,
The words pouring like ink on paper;
Hatred hating,
love forgetting...
The little flashy interests;
words carved in stone will follow in stone...
Everything will be the same, Laura...
At least, you smile
remembering your childhood
the moments when the flowers died between your hands,
but new ones arrived
during the joyful dance of your heart.
Your childhood, your old age,
yourself today and yourself yesterday:
When you were and when you went;
embrace the world
A bird becomes a cage,
and there is a sadness disguised as a goodbye.
Thanks for reading.

You're welcome, and I hope so too :)
I haven't read the original poem in Spanish, but I can tell you that this English version spoke to me a lot! I loved it!
