Who is the Devil? The Faust tale of selling your soul

in #occult6 years ago (edited)

The Devil is known with a lot of names, we have Satan, Lucifer, The Pied piper and a lot more. Some people think also that some Egyptian deities are Satan in other forms or interpretations. Zeus, for example, is the God of lightning symbolising a relation to the Bible version of Satan. Who fell from heaven like a lightning. In the Bible, Satan is also said to be the God of this world. Because he controls it. He gives people what they want in exchange for their soul.

The method, by which people can call him, is being a faithful servant to him. He chooses his people with care and before even having the chance to meet him, you need to do offerings. As my knowledge goes, offerings may vary, from something just as bringing wine to something that can be a ritualistic killing. Ritualistic killings are not something new. Killing an animal for a ritual is something that has been practised for ages, also child sacrifices. It may sound insane, but they do occur in this day an age as we speak. People are doing it because they think it can be a way for them to call demons and show them you are faithful.

The devil is believed to be the master of all fallen angels. He is most known as a demi-human. Half human half goat. Which symbolises the oneness that this satanist believe in. They believe he is the end and the beginning, the up and the down because of the sign for as above so below, the male and female because of being portrayed with both male and female genitals. The sun and the moon. Good and bad. The ONE that all of these occultists always talk about. That also may explain why there is "in God we trust" in the ONE dollar.

Also, have you noticed that the Devils Baphomet interpretation is actually a similar interpretation to Christ image? In my opinion, the Christ image is the Devil deceiving the Christians which belief in the image. I am not saying that Christ did not live, what I am saying is that he did not look like this. False image, resembling the image of Satan for known purposes.

What needs to be known is that calling a deities name is giving them energy. Also, praying gives energy and especially praying to an image. If the image is false, we give energy to false Gods. Thinking is the good one, but it is actually the evil ONE. All of the Gods we have are energy beings which feed off energy. That is their downfall. The Earth is their Hell. They are doomed to travel across the Earth never ever finding peace. If they want to survive they need to do evil, feed off the energy and continue with it. Other options are for them to find a host. Which is a process of possession of the human mind and body. This process is slow, the human must not resist which is the final goal of the demon. If we voluntarily sign a pact with the devil, we are agreeing into being possessed. Maybe not from the devil himself but from other demonic beings. Which is one way the devil can fulfil our desires, if the desire is a set of skills, being demonically possessed gives us these skills.

What I think is happening is that these demons cannot do it on their own. They are bound to the other world which is outside of the material one. If we need to create what we want, we need both dimensions. The spiritual and the material. They are stuck and need a host to create what they want.

Note that demons are very, very manipulative. If you sign a pact with one of them, they will most probably use you in some way or another. They may not give you what you want. They have an agenda, to get your body.

Johann Georg Faust

Maybe the most famous story about someone selling his souls is involving Johann Georg Faust. He was an alchemist, astrologer and magician. Faust was appearing as a performer of magic tricks and horoscopes. Faust also appeared as a physician, doctor of philosophy, alchemist, magician and astrologer. Because of that the church actually said he was diabolic. A blasphemer in league with the devil. But that is not what caught peoples intention on him.

The tales involving Faust say that he was highly successful but dissatisfied with his life, this leads him into making a deal with the Devil. Exchanging his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly possessions. Faust made a pact with a representative of the Devil. A demon called Mephistopheles. The bargain was simple, Mephistopheles will serve Faust for a number of set years after that Faust soul will be a possession to the Devil and he will be enslaved for eternity.

Faust uses Mephistopheles for seducing a woman named Gretchen. Her life is destroyed as she gives birth to Faust's son. Realising what she has done, Gretchen drowns her child. She was accused of murder but in the end, her innocence saves her and she enters Heaven. Faust's tales end up differently based on the tale which is being told. In the early ones, he ends up in Hell and eternally suffers. In others, especially new interpretations, he realises what happened and clears himself from the sins with the help of God and enters Heaven.

There are even some cinematic interpretations:

La Beauté du diable (The Beauty of the Devil)
Directed by René Clair, 1950 – A somewhat comedic adaptation with Michel Simon as Mephistopheles/Faust as old man, and Gérard Philipe as Faust transformed into a young man.

Phantom of the Paradise
Directed by Brian DePalma, 1974 - A vain rock impresario, who has sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for eternal youth, corrupts and destroys a brilliant but unsuccessful songwriter and a beautiful ingenue.

Mephisto
Directed by István Szabó, 1981 – An actor in 1930s Germany aligns himself with the Nazi party for prestige.

Lekce Faust (Faust)
Directed by Jan Švankmajer, 1994 – The source material of Švankmajer's film is the Faust legend; including traditional Czech puppet show versions, this film production uses a variety of cinematic formats, such as stop-motion photography animation and claymation.

Faust
Directed by Aleksandr Sokurov, 2011 – German-language film starring Johannes Zeiler, Anton Adasinsky, Isolda Dychauk.

American Satan
Directed by Ash Avildsen, 2017 – A rock and roll modern retelling of the Faust legend starring Andy Biersack as Johnny Faust.

In the end

I was going to give more examples of people selling their souls, but the article became too long and I want to keep it as short as possible. Next we will talk about more of the stories involving selling your soul. We have famous celebrities and more people who have said that they have seen and made a bargain with him. Also, I will give my thought on the subject as of why I think there may be some truth in it. Stay tuned and follow

Hi @kristofer - thanks for stirring up this subject! With so much being revealed about active Satanists, both in a religious form and in less recognizable ways in positions of power that affects quality of life in general I think it is important for all of us to gain a better understanding of what it is all about and to break this foolish notion that there is no such thing as a difference between good and evil.

What we traditionally call "The Devil", or "Satan" is most certainly present as an aberrant force in especially the evolution of human behavior. The mythologies and the symbolism commonly associated with this phenomenon are alas just about as misleading as "The Devil" is aberrant from what we perceive as an ideal outcome of our existence in this world, unless you analyze at least some of these to the bone in an abstract sense.

In case you are interested, when I can get around to it, I intend producing a few posts that can hopefully provide some insight into the origin of the distinction between good and evil and into where the notion of 'fallen Angel' comes from.

Cheers!
