For this, I feel like it's more of an evolution rather than being obsolete. If we don't move forward, then we're doomed to repeat everything over and over. Rope makers and other professions did their part in the time they lived. Now, it's time to think far ahead and envision new professions. With cryptocurrency on the rise, pretty soon Universal Basic Income would be a reality, and we don't even have to work to make money then. We would just be working because we want to.

I might be too close to this issue though, seeing as I deal with AI professionally. Also, I do think that maintenance work is the best use for robots. There would be no more need for people to be exposed to harmful environments.
