In the days to come, you are going to hear a lot about Stephen Hawking and the news of his passing. I want to write about it here and as a tribute to him explain how his life affected my own.

How Stephen Hawking Changed Me

I know Stephen Hawking is a renown atheist, but that never really mattered to me. What was important is how this man contributed and sacrificed for the advancement of our knowledge of the universe. I believe the origins of the universe matter to us all regardless of religion or creed. It is a selfless cause IMHO to search and understand our origins and what makes us us.

As a Christian, it is important to me to know these things because I believe it helps in my understanding of God. Even something so simple as the polarity of silicon and how transistors function is vital to me and affects me as a programmer, so for this very reason the origins of the universe are important to me as well. Now, in the wake of this news, I feel as though there has been a great loss. Still, I know that he has left a legacy at the University of Cambridge of those that will continue his work. There are those that he has touched that will continue on and carry the impact of his conviction. The fool I would have to be to not recognize this man's achievements and the his greatness.

Myself for example. I was impacted by "A Brief History of Time". Many were. For some, it is what led them to pursue physics. For me, it fanned a flame to pursue to the end of knowing.

Sort:

Who's gonna be the next Stephen Hawking?
well, it's going to be a threat to cryptocurrency. since Steph. is also one of the developer of Quantum Physics, it could penetrate the blockchain tech. security. But quantum physics made a good contribution to our daily lives in a macro level, and I'm grateful that he devoted his life for the sake of science and welfare of the people. RIP. :)

He is probably no longer an atheist. It is nice though that so many people who are not atheists will be wishing his soul R.I.P.

yes less atheist but more a logical person. thats wat made him great . RiP Legend .

He was a legendary physicist

I remember reading an article entitled "Time, the fourth dimension". His article played a major role in opening up my intellectual appetite and my interest in the field of astronomy.
For the late important books in the field of theoretical physics, we hope that the universities published and simplify the contents to be subject to the reference non-specialists readers.

Thanks for the post, @r351574nc3. Hawking, despite his MS was able to live a fulfilling life and contribute to the human experience we all share in, I think we can all be grateful for that. He shall always live on through his research as we dive deeper into cosmos.

Well, put!

big lost for science community

I'm going to watch "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking" this weekend, in his honor.

He was a great man, got to know about him from the movie 'the theory of everything' carried out more research after then.
I admire his zeal and determination towards changing the world with the theories.
RIP Stephen Hawkings

Good post. Thank For Sharing
