[CR] Kerosene lamp "Ederly Monk"
Today I want to show you my new collection of drawings - "The History of the Lamp".
In this series I will tell and show the history of this lighting device- from the first kerassin lamps to modern designer lamps of the 21st century.
My first work from this collection - kerosene lamp "Ederly Monk".
In the city of Lviv in 1853, a kerosene lamp was first demonstrated.
On one of the spring evenings, passersby noticed an unusual bright light filling the premises of the pharmacy "Under the Golden Star". Like moths flying into the light, people began to enter the pharmacy to look at the device that gave such a strong light.
The inventor was a pharmacist Ignacy Lukasevich. His lamp quickly gained popularity.
The demand for kerosene lamps in cities and villages lasted until the beginning of the 20th century.
New light sources operating on electric current, gradually replaced all other lighting devices.
