Still Life Drawing

For today's drawing drawing, it my entry for nTopsz still life drawing contest.

Drawing from observation takes a considerable practice and is as much about looking as it is about drawing.

You could be studying at an object close-up like this drawing I made and in a great details or a wide landscape.

Whatever the case may be, the objective of the practice is to observe, and interpret what you have seen into marks on paper.

The most important aspect of drawing drawing from observation is "looking". The development process takes time.

This is a composition comprising of a gas cooker, two pots with cover, a bottle with a big spoon.

• It all started by making vertical and horizontal lines.

• Then lines turned shapes

• Thereafter, vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines were used to create forms and textures.

• I rounded it up by creating a background.
