Hello everyone, today we are still roaming around the Asiatic Continent, we are in India to shine the light on a lute called Tamboura (Tambura, Tamburi, Tandura).
The Tanpura is a long-necked plucked string instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, found in various forms in Indian music.
It does not play melody but rather supports and sustains the melody of another instrument or singer by providing a continuous harmonic bourdon or drone. Wikipedia
It has a hollow neck, and usually has four metal strings.
Precision tuning is achieved by inserting bits of wool or silk between the strings and lower bridge and by adjusting small beads attached to the strings. Britannica

So many instrument looks similar like this, long neck, 3 or 4 strings. People at different countries has the basic instinct to develop the instruments. It's interesting.
