Light up the stars - The sky over Namibia

in #ntopaz5 years ago

ntopaz-image-0During my first visit to Namiba i got revarded with night views i really hoped for. The endless white little dots in the sky - the galaxies and nebulas - the far away planets we can only imagine. Our imgination and the eyes travel faster than speed of light across the milky way. Sweeping the the beam of my flshlight across the sky at devils playground in Namibia.

Taking the time of 54 seconds turned into magic. The light was collceted from the stars light traveling a mind blowing length16.200.000 travel distance. The single exposure set to ISO 2500 unvealed twice the amount of stars the human eye can see - turning the canvas into a dark yet spincled cake with all the little sugar cristals. Loving this!

Like a wings of some fairy. or a butterfly... Or maybe more modern interpretation in some sci-fi version - light beam wings :D
Anyway.. nice combination of reality and something out of this world actually. The idea to get few beams worked here very well with a star rays diagonal composition. Very well managed details in shadow while visible stars at the background.
Another masterpiece!

When you say it like that I see a dragon fly. Thank you for your incredible input. The comparison also triggers some ideas for future projects. 🕺

A sky full of stars! The lights became her wings. Beautiful.

Felicidades y saludos.

Thaaaaank you so much for your encouraging comment.

Seriously awesome. 😍

Long exposure rookie question: Is there any special trick/tip for having the subject appear so static— or is it simply to have them stay as still as they possibly can during the exposure?

So of course standing still is always good. Have a look at the next post. There I used a technique called scanning. You take a light source and sweep over your subject relatively quickly then you doing the rest of the lighting. So the subject is bright and only if it moves big time there is no problem.
