Just last summer i visited the most Iconic tree of the United States and got lucky once again to see it without the fog in the sun. The 250 year old cypress tree that grew out of a rock at the Monterey Peninsula is famous around the world. Back than i had no idea how lucky i was to get a shot like that. Not too long after the tree would be damaged in this dramatic way by a storm. A very good friend who works for Pepple Beach just told me about it and i had to google the news. On my end of the world (i understand) this does not make the 8pm news. For me it still is wierd to see the tree losing a 'limp'.

For my upcoming trip to the US i really wanted to do a night shooting. This time the picture will be different thats for sure.

See the tree the way it looks today

what a pity that this wonderful tree got damaged! - but this is nature, right?

Yes that's right. So I guess we will always know photos before and after the storm of Feb. 2019
