Hello to all of Steemit's dear friends.
Stones tell stories, that's right!
They are very ancient and eternal testimonies of buildings and monuments of many peoples.
In Italy and in most of Europe and the Middle East, the Roman Empire with the use of stone to create the largest and most monumental engineering works in history: bridges, waterways, amphitheaters, theaters, honor columns, triumphal arches, obelisks, gyms, libraries, domes and temples.

The stone is a rock formed by aggregates of minerals, not classifiable.
In the category of rocks are also two minerals widely used by the Romans: marble and travertine, which are also very resistant, but more noble, for the white color and the possibility of being polished.

The resistance of these materials is extraordinary, we have the testimony of many buildings and ancient buildings, with over 2000 years of history and which still today manifest their energy and greatness.

The ancient buildings, have a very special charm for us painters.
Especially the watercolorists can try their hand with the reflections and the lights that the poor material of the limestone offers.
Blows of bright light that have fun playing with the shadows of the splits and cracks of the ancient walls of thousands of years.

A satisfaction observing them, but also retracting them, in their geometric forms, but in many cases border imaginative abstractions, such as seeing fantastic monsters inside old plasters or stone walls, or in large boulders to see human or mythological forms.

I share photographs where you can see the wise use of stone paving streets or to model statues based on ancient columns, also in stone.

Ciao a tutti cari amici di Steemit.
Le pietre raccontano storie, si proprio così!
Esse sono testimonianze antichissime ed eterne di costruzioni e monumenti di molti popoli.
l'impero romano in Italia e in Medio Oriente, con l'uso della pietra ha realizzato le più grandi e monumentali opere di ingegneria della storia: ponti, corsi d'acqua, anfiteatri, teatri, colonne d'onore, archi di trionfo, obelischi, palestre, biblioteche, cupole e templi.

La pietra è una roccia formata da aggregati di minerali, non classificabili.
Nella categoria delle rocce rientrano anche due minerali molto usati dai romani: il marmo e il travertino, anch'essi molto resistenti, ma più nobili, per il colore bianco e la possibilità di essere lucidati.

La resistenza di questi materiali è straordinaria, ne abbiamo la testimonianza da moltissimi edifici e costruzioni antiche, con oltre 2000 anni di storia e che ancora oggi manifestano la loro energia e grandezza.
Condivido delle fotografie dove si può vedere il sapiente uso della pietra pr lastricare strade o per modellare statue a base delle colonne antiche, anch'esse in pietra.
Sapete che tutte queste meraviglie architettoniche si trovano nella città di Terracina?
Se vi trovate da queste parti sarò a vostra disposizione come guida, nella mia città di adozione.

Le costruzioni antiche, hanno un fascino molto particolare per noi pittori.
Specialmente gli acquarellisti possono cimentarsi con i riflessi e le luci che il materiale povero della pietra calcarea offre.
Colpi di luce chiara che si divertono a giocare con le ombre delle spaccature e delle fessure dei muri antichi di migliaia di anni.

Una soddisfazione osservarle, ma anche ritrarle, nelle loro forme geometriche, ma che in molti casi rasentano astrazioni immaginative, come quelle di vedere mostri fantastici all'interno di vecchi intonaci o muri in pietra, oppure in grossi massi scorgere delle forme umane o mitologiche.

Condivido inoltre, alcuni acquarelli con soggetti le pietre e la loro destinazione artistica.

This is a beautiful series of lions or animal stilofori, from the Greek language meaning column bearers.
They are unique blocks carved into the limestone rock, think that challenging work!

Questa è una serie bellissima di leoni o animali stilofori, dalla lingua greca che significa portatori di colonna.
Sono dei blocchi unici scolpiti nella roccia calcarea, pensate che lavoro impegnativo!
