This Italian photographer is known to the whole world for his delightful abstract landscapes, but during the experiments and searches for his style in the 1980s he took off an invigorating series of nude photos of the "Pool".

Franco Fontana was born in 1933 in Modena. In 1961 he got carried away with photography and joined the club of amateur photographers. Seven years later, his debut exhibition was held in his native city. Since then, Franco's works have been on more than 400 exhibitions in different countries and published in over seventy books published by Italian, French, German, Swiss, Spanish, American and Japanese publishers.

Fontana developed his own original style, which is based on interest in the interaction of colors. Critics called it the photographic transavantgard. Like many of his colleagues, Fontana in search of "his" genre experienced himself in different directions: from portrait and fashion photography to the cityscape, still life and nude. The greatest popularity was brought to him by colorful landscapes with abstract compositions, but we propose to look at his photo series of the 1980s "Pool".
