We should really find a new word so that liberalism can be used in it's original context.
Unfortunately the word has been tainted beyond repair. Everyone now associates liberalism with this hedonistic, anti-intellectual, "fuck the future live for free welfare and free beer" kind of society.
Whatever it was in the past, or should have been, is now long gone, and those that don't want themselves to be associated with this, should not call themselves Liberals.
It is for sure long gone.
