A Look at What the NPC Meme is saying.

in #npc6 years ago (edited)

This bell curve spells out, in greater detail, what the NPC meme is saying. The fact that NPC is becoming so popular means that many of the people sharing must also be NPC. What I mean is, they are using it as a simple way to say the other side is wrong, without coming up with an actual argument. It's the old, "Your Dumb" non-argument that is said to smart people, all the time.

The NPC meme, is useful though in trying to take an idea, that those on the right side of the curve came up with and spread it to the left of the curve. It's actually a good idea. It's the idea is that people don't think; they just parrot what other people say; but that they should think.

Many people in the center and center right of this bell curve are capable of thinking. They are just stuck in the matrix and can't see it for what it is. The NPC meme is an attempt to shake them, to pull the plug. It's saying, "Think, Dammit, think. "

It's also making fun of people for not thinking. Think about that for a moment. As much as sensitive people don't like the idea of shaping behavior by making fun of people, it is a power behavior modifier that very much here to stay. Making fun of people for behavior is a way of expressing social disapproval. Most people seek approval and modify their behavior.

So now we have a wide spread social movement expressing disapproval for going along with what you are told without thinking about it. I'm sure this particular meme will fizzle out soon but I think it has the power to shift attitudes a bit. It's sharing a powerful idea. The goal is to shift the bell curve over to its right.

Of course the people who want to control us want to crush this meme. This includes any statist, politician, school teacher, socialist, leftist, basically the people the meme is making fun of.
