The centre at Stord is called LeirviksteemCreated with Sketch.

Leirvik is a good harbour and still has the speedboat arriving here.
And some years ago, boat traffic was more significant with both ferries, liners and speedboats coming and going all day.

In earlier times, about a hundred years ago, steamships were operating this port.
Picture number two shows two old boats that have been restored.
The other pictures showed the boat midsummer when there was a boat festival on the harbour.

The ship to the left is called Granvin and is from 1931. It has not been a steamboat but is a motorboat.
At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, it was the pond that dominated.

The ship number two in the picture is an example of a steamboat.
The steamboat Stord was built in 1913. It has a long history as a liner in Sunnhordland.

A couple of links tell more about these boats. Unfortunately, the text is only in Norwegian https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_en_Granvin »

Nice to look at such long-livers. It is hard to imagine how many storms and other dangers, in the ocean, these vessels have seen. Not every car can keep its appearance for so many years, and these ships remain afloat. Thank you so much Dear @Siggjo! Your story makes you wonder about the skill of the shipbuilders of those years when these ships were launched into the shipbuilding docks and set off for the first voyage.

It is true that these old boats are nice to look at @Barski
They have their beautiful lines and built on a well-established tradition from hundreds of years back.
It is an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers who, in their work, keep these boats in good condition.
During the year, the small tours in the surrounding area arrange these boats where people both natives and tourists have the opportunity to participate in these trips.

I love to look at old ships. Thank you for the wonderful photos, dear @SIggjo.

You always take pictures of very interesting objects and make useful historical references about them. It's always nice to know the history of these ships.
