Barony in Rosendal

in #norway6 years ago (edited)

The Barony in Rosendal is situated in a beautiful landscape on the southern side of the Hardangerfjord, close to beautiful mountains and not far from the glacier Folgefonna.
Here is also the beautiful Hatteberg waterfall. Not far from Rosendal Barony, Hatteberg river flows into the Hardangerfjord.

The beautiful castle of Rosendal Barony where built in 1665. Karen Mowatt Norway's richest heiress married in 1658 with Ludvig Rosenkrantz, an impoverished Danish nobleman. As a wedding gift, they got the Hatteberg property.
Here they built their small castle, which was completed in 1665.
Today, Rosendal Barony is a museum.

The beautiful park in Rosendal is at approx. 40 acres
This gorgeous park contains about 300 years of garden history.
The pictures are taken from this beautiful garden.

Thank you for your nice comments about my photos of the Barony in Rosendal @Joklahoma

This castle is very beautiful.
Thank you for the bright photos, @ Siggjo.

Your description of the history of its construction is also interesting.
It is even surprising that so many centuries have passed, and it still stands,
although it was built in 1665.

Judging by the photos of the place there is very picturesque and calm.
Beautiful nature, many flower beds and long alleys,
high mountains and wonderful green lawns.

Thanks to you and I discovered this wonderful corner of Norway.

Thank you very much for your informative posts and bright photos.

Thanks for the nice comment about Barony in Rosendal @Singa
Many thanks for the lovely video about Rosendal. Nice to hear beautiful Norwegian music by composer Edvard Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No.1

I was looking for it especially for you.

Thanks for the lovely music of the great composer Edvard Grieg @Singa
I love classical music.

Siggjo , listen play this boy. It's beautiful. He is only 6 years old.

So cute a boy! @Singa
Terrific piano play of this six-year-old.
He must have a big future as a pianist in front of him.
I'm impressed @ Singa

I'm really glad you enjoyed his game, dear, Siggjo!
