Ask frå knopp til blad. Ash from bud to leaf.
These pictures show how ash (Fraxinus excelsior) evolves from the black bud to a fully developed leaf during the hectic days of late May. This year I have seen developing ash leaf before May 17th. This is rare, usually, the ash is last of the deciduous tree to get leaves in spring and happens during the transition between May and June.
Two other species of deciduous trees that are among the latest to get leaves are oak (Quercus robur) and aspen (Populus tremula).
Dette var kult satt sammen @Siggjo
Hyggeleg at du likte biletserien med askeblad @Gyldenhorn
Very impressive look your photos, @siggjo.
It's like you're watching the whole process.
the emergence of a new life of leaves.
I used to pay little attention to it.
5 years ago probably would not be able to distinguish between aspen and beech.
Thank you for photos and explanations to them.
Last frame best )
...and have us now, too, are blooming leaves on trees)
With respect, @singa
Thanks for your friendly comments @Singa
I am glad you liked the pictures of the whole process of development of the ash leaves.
Best regards
@Siggjo
Wow, i have never seen an ash leaf evolve from the black bud to a fully developed leaf , or maybe i havent just taken notice of it, this photography is exquisite, thank you for sharing these. I should go into the woods today and have my own shots of nature
My motto:
