Election in Norway September 11th 2017. The Libertarian(Capitalist) party will do their best election ever - nationalist parties on the rise as well

in #norway7 years ago

The Libertarian party (Liberalistene) wishes for Minarchy, meaning very restricted government. They have a very thought out plan how to do this gradually over a generation.

To me it seems like the party is predominantly young protestors. I've been following them on Facebook for some years, and been engaging with them and also been making some friends online. 99% of them are clever people with strong moral values. From engineers and doctors to people on welfare that have seen how the welfare state has robbed them and not been giving back what they deserved. It seems to me like a lot of their members are capable of holding their moral values at a higher standard than their own accomplishments in life.

And an idea that I believe most of them are holding is that the welfare state, even though it has worked quite well in Norway up until now, won't work in the future in a globalized world with increasing demographic changes. The most humane thing to do to everyone is to level the playing field for everyone. Welcome all immigrants, but give them no economic incentive to stay. No free money. Also, some people with disabilities or who hasn't succeeded much holds a rational and in my opinion correct grudge towards the welfare state. Disabling people from an early age with poor schooling, no mentorship on personal development, no climate for entrepreneurship, no need to take personal responsibility for your life, which in the end would be better for more people.

With a strong leadership and knowledge about social media and how to reach out to people, hustling way more than the established parties they have gone from unknown two years ago to one of the five most popular parties on social medias. Using memes, open discussion, humor and always ready to mobilize when communists are posting ridicilous things they are sure enough going to make an impact this election.

If I'm not mistaken they could be as big as the communist party (the red) which over the years has gotten way more attention by the main stream media than they deserve. Losing members and influence every year, msm desperately tries to keep them relevant by interviewing the hypocrite leader who talks shit about rich people. Yes, you are of course thinking correctly. He is the son of rich cultural relativists and live in a multi million dollar home in a rich area.

Not much is going to be changing in the political sphere in Norway the next four years, but more and more protest parties are forming, such as the "alliance" which has one goal under their "all mighty leader" Hans Jørgen Lysglimt (former laissez faire capitalist now gone nationalist) to pull out of the EØS agreement. (Which is basically how the norwegian government snuck us the back way into the EU in the 90s. Also nationalist parties are forming on a small scale. Just yesterday national socialists (nazis) called the nordic resistance movement, were marching in the city of Kristiansand, which has been quite rare in Norway.

Like most western countries Norway is going to go through political changes. However due to our wealth and relatively stable society compared to other western countries right now, the process will be slower (and hopefully, once again more thought out than in other countries where changes happens faster)

The Swedish election next year is going to be much more of a thriller.

Wishing the Libertarian party good luck in the upcoming election!

The sad thing is that the election system in Norway heavily favors the bigger parties (as in most countries - but luckily not as bad in Norway as i.e. the US). Allegedly to prevent a "Polish parliament"-situation ("Polsk riksdag"), but probably the real reason is that status-quo is good for the parties with the power to change this.

The difference between 3.9% and 4.1% could mean the difference between one candidate in the parliament and four candidates. Most of the small parties have no real chance to get candidates in - but still, votes are important as a party gets quite big amount of funding for each vote it gets.

Less than 5000 votes in the upcoming election, and any nation-wide party will have to cut a lot of red tape to enter the next election. I'm active in the Pirate Party, and I'm quite concerned that we'll have problems getting more than 5000 votes in the upcoming election, as quite some people and votes are now deflected to the liberals as well as the new "alliance party".

Good luck up there, in southern Europe more concretely in Spain we have an advance of communism that has left them very close to the government, seeing the trend you have there, you give me a lot of envy.

We're still very far away from libertarianism. And most people, I would say 95% are very statist minded, and would probably prefer communism before classical liberalism. But we're seeing a trend of nationalism and anarchism/libertarianism. Communism is falling in popularity. It's kinda funny :)

Arrived at this point in which as societies we have gone through different ideologies showing that they all have more bad things than good. We need a new ideology that is based on the strengths of each one of them. Or is it that after two thousand years of experience have not served anything? That's why it gives me envy, because it seems that in Norway if it goes in the right way or at least you are not going the wrong way like we are in Spain.

Word! Shit, if the Libertarian Party starts gaining serious traction there, I'll probably work towards moving there with my girlfriend! My foot was already in the door when I heard about Liberstad and the developments they've been making, so I'm ready to ditch the States and head over there!

9/11 was an inside job...
