Peter Parkerson' s Arabic journey (son sejour dans les pais Arabes) started in Kuwait (see pic), app 220 years after another Scandinavian traveler (Carsten Niebuhr) was in the same area. While Carsten Nibuhr (see copperprint), as the last survivor in a large Danish expedition to present day Yemen (Arabia Felix), joined the caravans on a voyage northwards (which lasted for years), Peter Parkerson turned westwards in the Ottoman Empire and settled down in the outskirts of the kasbah of Algers.
