Prosject: renovating Windy cabincruiser #1
When Windy Boats was established in 1966 the first sport boats set new standards for performance and craftsmanship. All Windy Boats bear the hallmark of quality without compromise, drawing on five decades of boat building excellence, and centuries of Scandinavian seafaring heritage.
This is A classic Norwegian designed boat called Windy 23 Fun Cab. It’s from 1984.
The interior Is a bit out of date obviously, and that’s why I have to renovate the inside of the boat.
I started to remove the old blue carpets and found a white plastic coating that’s supposed to look like wood.
At first I thought I could use the floor, it would make a really nice surprise, and save a lot of money, but when I looked closer the plastic was ruined by the glue which kept the carpets on place. You see that best on this picture, the yellow marks:
So that was unfortunate.
I want Add dark brown rubber teak instead of real teak, as I do not need to maintain it. Did some research on the topic and found this to be recommended:http://www.marinedeckfactory.com/eva-faux-teak-sheet/eva_faux_teak_sheet_fts001_color1.html
I’m looking forward to test this material and showing you the results.
