Röyksopp & Robyn "Monument"

Biography

Although Berge and Brundtland were comrades in the hometown of Tromsø and experimented with electronic instruments in the early 1990s (including inspired by Kraftwerk and Tromsø artist Biosphere), Röyksopp did not encounter until they met in Bergen several years later. The group was officially formed in 1998 and debuted with the single "So Easy" at Mikal Telle's company Telle Records in 1999. Röyksopp soon gained attention internationally and entered into a contract with the company Wall of sound recordings, which released the rest of their music.

Röyksopp received great attention and commercial success with his first album Melody A.M. in 2001. Much of the reason for success is attributed to the band's graphic music videos, which were experimental and partly partly innovative. The video of "Remind Me", made by the French company H5, won the MTV award for best music video in Barcelona in 2002. In addition, they performed live on the stage in front of millions of European television viewers, with the song Poor Leno .

The follow-up album The Understanding was launched in July 2005, with Only This Moment as the first single.

On January 5, 2009, Röyksopp announced that their third studio album Junior was released on March 23. The song "Happy Up Here" was released on March 9 as the first single from the album. Junior, according to the group, is a mix of the two previous albums, and on the record, the Swedish artists Robyn, Lykke Li and Karin Dreijer Andersson, as well as Norwegian Anneli Drecker, known from Bel Canto, contribute.

In November 2012, Röyksopp performed two songs in collaboration with Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør in the latest edition of the Lydverket program on NRK1: a cover of "Ice Machine" by Depeche Mode, as well as a whole new song; «Running to the Sea».
