Whats happening in Norway lately? Gouvernment almost shutting down? Giving our electricity away ?

in #norway7 years ago

So stuff have happened in Norway lately that ahve gotten more people active and taking interest in political activity. Not that I myself believe that political action wil ever becom part of any good solution. But if it triggers more people to look into whats going on it helps. Adn the first thing that happened was that Sylvi Listhaug from the progress party made a statement on Facebook that created an uproar in political circles. Enough that she had to appologise for the statement.

The initiall satement with a link to her own page that details the statement: need new tools for terror control. ANd the main points that creted the reactions is this: (translated) "We are facing a new time with forign warriers and terrorists attacking our national security. To protect our country we need new ways to revoke the citizenshipss of thous who attack Norways security and take away they're passports."

She had earlyer pressented a new law proposal that whould give them new and faster ways of doing this and ehr eis the reasoning that was included in that same statement: "The resons for why we proposed that this should be decided by the state department is because its a security messure. To prevent terror events rewoking citicenships must be initiated fast. Its not a matter of circumvent the priciples of the court, as some have claimed. The desicion can ofcource the presented before the court."

Now the issue I see here is that the new proposals may make it abel to take citicanship away from ANYindividual being a citicen in norway. Regardless of how long youve been a citicen. I have perosnally not actually been following this as it happened so I dont know too much about the reactions, but i asume it is something sililar. But the issue is that the reaction and statement is tooo much based in fear , be afraid of others. And that disregards why individuals end up doing the things they do.

After the reactions she gare a response to it on FB where it seems that the terroris event that happened some years ago that was refered to Norways 911 was used to claim she was hinting to that: Listhaugs felt response And then came the appology where she also stated the situation to be "kindergarden politics": Kindergarden politics, and im sorry

And to top it off, Sylvi posted a picture showing the typical armed terrorist on FB that she have sinse deleted and appologised for, where it stated: "The labour party things thatt he rights of the terrorists is more important then the security of the nation." and article about that: Høyre politikere om Listhaugs uttalelse den bør slettes og beklages

Moving on.......

And now energy, and how to give it away to the EU!. OR atleast htats what is attempted by whoever proposed this and made it into a parlament vote. That now have been voted on and got a majority of yes unfortunattly.( Drama in the ACER debate that eventually ended in a parlament yes vote) But this havent gone thought unnoticed as this became a huge issue of debate in manny political circles including the top workers union relating to energy and technology jobs. And understandably so, as it signs hte rights to controll hwo much energy is produced when and where over to the EU via the organisaction named ACER. And why whould Norwegen politicians what that? IF we only knew.

An interesting note however is that the Labour party was strongly for this dela with ACER, while the Labour union is against it.(Labour partys yes creates unease in the Labour union) Dont they see the disconnect? And ther eis a new FB group being made that now ahve some 110 000 members thats against the ACER deal. (Stopp ACER) and thats only the once whos activly doing or seeking action to prevent and stop this. There is likely a whole lot more that is agaisnt it but is held back by the notion of "what can little me do about it?" being essnetially what a relative responded with when i asked him. But this does seem to wake some more individuals up to the fact that something is not right.

Now just to mention, the vote for yes did not come without any demands from Norways part. This article show the list and an article about it. (in Norwegen) And thouse demands is essentially describing that the controll and owndership of enegy production should be in the hands of the norwegen Gouvernment and its departments. But this issue is not over yet so how wil it end up? time will tell. As there is now a stronger move towards getting Norway out of the EU del called EØS agreement as a ressult of all this.

Sort:

Having the option to revoke citizenship only makes sense, this is regardless of how long the person might have had citizenship but would not be able if it would result into a person becoming stateless. Essentially this is a tool to use against individuals that are working against the state and as a result can potentially have it's citizen priviledges revoked.

The energy bill, does not equal giving away energy though it does mean Norway would have to comply to EU rules to have access to the open market since Norway is not an EU-member this is not a given. Norway ofcourse has the option to not adhere to EU-regulation but chooses to be partake in the package deal as long as it is beneficial. This comes down to taking a profit in some areas and losing out in others. Norway will have to provide cheaper electricity but also has received subsidies toward bringing about the energy infrastructure required.

I am not in general a supporter of the EU as a whole but that is not to say that everything coming from the EU is disagreeable, to be objective you must look at something from various perspectives and angles.

The issue with rewoking citizenhips isnt that tehr eisnt any way of doing that today, its about a rpoposal that is harsher and faster and includes a risk to everyone, not just individuals coming from other countrys.

And the ACER deal is an issue of more power to the powerfull meaning big corporations, and less to the people. And the gouvernment is supose to be for the people, not for the corporate entitys.

But ofcourse, there is positives and negatives to most things.

Mhen! This is astonishing..
How can you be a leader and treat others like nuisance.... To me I think it's absurd.... The citizens of Norway must summon the courage to fight back... They must not suffer for their right.... Thanks for the post @jostein

By comparison to several other places in this world, Norway is not as bad, but there is some common issues that is a challenge in every "country" that this ties into. Also on awarage most people live good lives currently, but that is only for so long if we let things just move along.

Hmm.... I think you are right because the are several countries experiencing greater difficulties when compared to them
