Mark Hollis, former leader of Talk Talk. This cult group of the Top 50 of the 80s with its tube Such A Shame, had negotiated in the wake of a turn arty so successful that his small handful of albums published between 1986 and 1991 (The Color of Spring, Spirit of Eden, Laughing Stock ) retrospectively constitutes an unparalleled trilogy sound very fertile and influential: there are countless groups that rubbed, broken teeth and tried to reproduce the textural richness, melodic, even sepulchral. Hollis had only acted on the band via a single solo album, which had also remained in the pop pantheon, often considered even more beautiful than anything he had done with his band. This record, which bore only its name as a title, dates back to 1998. Since then, almost no news. And, suddenly, these days, a few moments of music have popped up. Moments, because the set, a single piece, does not reach the minute: 55 seconds titled ARB section 1, found on YouTube and intended for an episode of the TV series Boss, season 2 (including Gus Van Sant has also made an episode of Season 1). This little piece of music was composed for a movie, The Peacock: Mark Hollis had been asked by Brian Reitzell, musical supervisor for the series and the film. Reitzell, himself a former musician of the rock band Redd Kross, played with Air and also takes care of the musical choices of the films of Quentin Tarantino and Sofia Coppola. He had asked Mark Hollis and Air for Peacock's music, but the resulting songs remained unpublished, until Reitzell used some of them for the series.

Nok ein gang eit tips om nokon eg aldri før har høyrt om. Alltid moro når ein kan utvide horisonten litt. "Et tilbaketrukket liv som familiefar, som en popens J. D. Salinger" - digga den setningen :)

I found a rare Interview by Mark Hollis, and I like to share it with you :

TIPS: legg inn en link til avspillings mulighet tidlig i posten. så kan man høre på mens man leser ;)

Nydelig, føles ut som om artisten prøver å ta deg med på en reise igjennom musikken. Fra første tone til siste lydbølgen treffer trommehinnen. Men hvor vil han hen?
