North and South Korea agreed on nuclear disarmament

North and South Korea agreed on nuclear disarmament, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said after the historic summit on the border between the two countries. According to South Korean President Mun Zhe In, there will be no more war between the two countries and a "new era of peace" begins.

The demilitarized zone between the countries was declared a "zone of peace" - from May 1, propaganda broadcasting will stop on the border. North Korean leaders Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying also agreed to "finish the state of the temporary armistice and bring peace to the entire Korean peninsula."

Peace treaty between the DPRK and South Korea can be signed already this year, according to a joint declaration.

Earlier, South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying met with Kim Jong-no from the demarcation line dividing the Korean peninsula. Kim became the first in 65 years, the ruler of the DPRK, set foot on the territory of South Korea.

The heads of the two states exchanged handshakes and delivered welcome speeches. Then they crossed the concrete boundary line paved on the ground, after which Kim Jong Un unexpectedly asked the President of South Korea to cross the border line once more, from the south to the north. After that, the leaders returned to the southern part of the demilitarized zone and again crossed the concrete line, about half a meter wide.

Leaders of the two countries planted a pine tree and strengthened the plate with the words: "Here the roots of Peace and Prosperity" were launched.

The rapprochement between the two Koreas began after the conversion of the North Korean leader to the nation for the New Year. Then Kim announced that 2018 would be "very important" for the Korean people and that Pyongyang was open to dialogue with Seoul. After short negotiations, the countries agreed on the fate of the DPRK in the Winter Olympic Games of the joint team for women's hockey.

Soon after the Games, the first reports appeared that Kim Jong-yn was ready to start negotiations with Donald Trump personally about turning the Korean peninsula into a nuclear-free zone.

Then a secret meeting took place between CIA Director (and now US Secretary of State) Mike Pompeo and Kim Jong-no in Pyongyang.

In early April, North Korean authorities said that they would suspend all nuclear missile tests and close the range at which they were conducted.
