Too early to make trail..
Jay and I had gone down our winter road a few times with the quads dragging tires to help freeze the swamps a bit more and figured it would be good to start taking the plow truck, so off we went!
Maybe not quite yet... the front tire fell through the ice and into some swamp.
Jay dumped out the quad so Dallas can give me a ride back to the other truck a couple miles back down the road.
Got the truck, hooked up to the plow truck gave it a few good tugs and I ended up falling through too!! Oh shit! 😁
Time to think, now we have two trucks stuck!
After some thinking, Jay decided to give his uncle a call to bring us a jack. So we sent Dallas off on his quad to meet the uncle at the highway to pick up the jack (uncle had a 2wd truck). When Dallas got back Jay had tried to jack up the front of the truck to back it off with no such luck. Jay had also tried the 'winching with poles' method but it just didn't seem to work so well for us 😒
I had the idea to call his uncle back and send him to the house to pick up a few goodies that would get us unstuck right quick! So we sent Dallas out on his quad again to meet the uncle at the highway again and go with him to our house to pick up the hidden hitch winch and booster cables(which both are normally already in/on the truck).
While we were waiting on Dallas to get back we got a nice fire going to stay warm. About an hour later Dallas showed up with the winch, cables, and some garlic sausage!! Good thinking, kiddo!!
It only took a few mins to have both trucks out, but instead of leaving right away we sat and enjoyed our garlic sausage cooked over the fire.
It's these times that make the best memories 💕
