Our second visit for the disabled and handicapped at Missionaries of the Poor

in #non-profit7 years ago (edited)

I feel so blessed that our company chose me to be the project coordinator for charity events. It's a dream come true!!  My happiness and support is 10x more than the effort I gave to this people. We visited them again at Missionaries of the Poor, Little Lamb Center, Cebu City Philippines.

In the room were wooden cribs with children of various ages,  many of them sick with cerebral palsy. Some were so severely disabled that they could only lie on their beds. But despite that, somehow their is a feeling that they are in a place were they feel loved. I did not see the agony on their faces only happiness.

First , being in the presence of Father Moses , Father Louie and some lay volunteers. They are always very happy, giving and exceedingly helpful to all.  Serving the poor and crippled is truly inspiring and humbling. We only helped out for one day, but these great men devote their whole loves of caring the needy.

Second, our activities for children and adults in the home , we cook for them, feed them , spoke to them and held them. We provided some donations (diaper,  toiletries, toys, used clothes and so on). Despite everything, we received more than what we gave and felt elated that they remembered us way back the first time we visited them.

Third,  we were so impressed with the generosity of the Denish volunteers Catherine and Louie. Without their help, the work there would be so much more difficult. The world would be a better place if people are like this , selflessly spending their time to God's forgotten people.

I still can't get over extending our hands even how little we had, devoting your presence at the Missionaries of the Poor was so special. Our company made this outreach program a success together with our colleagues.  we went home with a renewed faith, a new love,  a new vision for our lives and the willingness to return and help again.
