I am not sure on that one. Yeah that Samson movie was pretty impressive. It's crazy someone like that did not come out of that era as the "It" person, but there was an awful lot of company, she does get acclaim, but modern day I feel she kind of gets swept under the rug with additional accomplishments. That and it's kind of weird calling someone a "Renaissance Woman," like she was decades ahead of her time, lol. Thanks for the commentary @brownpaperwrap!

Keep in mind she was about 2 DECADES ahead of Marilyn Monroe, TV didn't exist back then. So Marilyn was really more of a function of the speed and expanse of media during her era, allowed her to become a mega-star, not just a stary.

Since we never lived in 1930s, hard to say just how popular Hedy was, no? Also, porn-related stuff back then was even MORE risque than it was when Marilyn appeared on first cover of Playboy. Lotta space and change between Hedy and the "super" sex symbols of decades later.
