sad truth. I donate a lot. Seldom to organisations, i do it personally, there are hundreds of people in need all around us by the streets, sleeping in pavements, selling tissues, no food to eat. I mean we could make that difference ourselves.
Every month ~1% of my salary goes to helping the needy directly(food,water and some cash) not via a third party. Its a good deed to help the victims in Syria,Haiti... but when you see people lying helpless infront of you everyday, i guess that's where we need to start.
Thats so true @amreschandra, thats it exactly ! Why send money to far off lands to people you never meet or see even when there are literally hundreds in every town that nobody see or wants to see ! Especially as when you put the money in that tin in the High Steet, where is the gurantee that your generoasity will ever be felt by the needy ! Yes home is wear the heart is so i agree local action is far better ! )
