Review: Gambling & Fantasy Sports Crypto. NLC2, Wagerr, Funfair, Peerplays & Edgeless.
- The total market cap has crossed the $150 billion mark, and you can see the relief on the altcoins faces right now.
- We are nearly there with Segwit, expected to activate probably before my next video! https://www.xbt.eu/ Will we see a boom? It’s hard to say as it could already be priced in. However, the market has shown itself as a very reactionary one in the past.
- Ripple is one of the biggest gainers, and we know why. Speculation around entering eastern markets.
In today’s episode, we are going to look at the one coin that could rule them all. In their respective industries. I’m looking at Fantasy Sports and Gambling coins today. Evaluating them and hopefully giving you some greater insight into the projects. Now there are a lot, but I’m going to talk about some of the most popular.
FANTASY SPORTS:
I will start with fantasy sports first. Now there is an important legal distinction between the two, even though I’m reviewing these coins together. Fantasy is considered a game of skill and not luck, therefore not subject to the harsh restrictions for US companies looking to start up. Now I’m going to try and be as impartial as I can. I wasn’t aware there were more than 1 fantasy sports coin, but I will quickly show you why.
FOOTYCASH <$500k Rank 565
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/footy-cash/
- Just over 4 million coins minted. Not a whole lot going on with the price charts. Now this website is got a warning message on it, and you need to follow some technical instructions to swap your coins. Not sure why that was needed. On their website, they state they are focusing on Europe and Australia, which is likely due to the difficulty of them getting a US license to operate. That’s a huge market they would be missing out on. Later on, on the same website it shows how popular it is in North America. This rather low-res image does state they plan to offer more sports, I’m just not sure why they would call it footy cash in that case. Marketing is important people! PoS rewards being 3%.
FOOTBALLCOIN
- I’m not sure what’s going on here because, I can’t find this coin on coinmarketcap: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/search/?q=xfc And on their news website it states: https://www.footballcoin.io/footballcoin-to-join-forces-with-anx-international-for-the-creation-of-our-own-blockchain/ So they still need to create a blockchain and their own coin? Really bizarre and a difficult project to trust with a lot of your capital.
NLC2 $40M Rank 90
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nolimitcoin/
- Now I do kind of feel like this when having just looked at those. For those of you that don’t know, I’ve been backing NLC2 for a long time. Back when I had… 1 subscriber on YouTube. And no, it was not my mum, that was purely organic growth. So, thank you to whoever subbed. Ah the good old days, of one month ago.
- Around 200 million coins minted, but I hear there’s way less than that in circulation. And not yet on a major exchange, so what’s up with that. Let’s ask the slack. Very easy to communicate with the devs. Awesome community.
- When you’re looking at investing in a coin, I have yet to find a project as transparent as this. Have a look at the CEO of NLC Rafael Grosewirt, calling Joe Thesimann, a legendary quarter back about being a spokesperson for the project:

FUNFAIR $113M Rank 57
https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/funfair/
- Ethereum based blockchain casino. 17 Billion of their own coins minted. Price status?
- Some difficulty using the platform showcase, needed to connect to a test Ethereum network, and get a metamask chrome browser plugin. It also really seems to kill my pc. The beta is planning to be released Q1 of 2018.
WAGERR $19M Rank 137
https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/wagerr/
- 200 Million coins minted. Price status? Oddly it has this self-regulating system of continually printing 1 million more coins per year, but if the platform is popular, more coins will be burned each year than is minted. It’s known as Value coupling. Live betting is an interesting development on their roadmap, planned for Q4 2018. I couldn’t see anything to bet on other than the McGregor fight. Which I would like to see win, but I wouldn’t bet on. Although with those odds...
PEERPLAYS $21M Rank 133
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/peerplays-ppy/
- 5.5 Million coins minted. Been on a bit of a downer since earlier this year. Still not on any major exchange. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere to play it. I tried to use their app, but couldn’t find it on the play store. On the November 2017 roadmap, maybe that’s the platform?
EDGELESS $60M Rank 76
https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/edgeless/
- 132 Million coins minted. The value has grown a lot since April. Another Ethereum based blockchain casino. Planning to launch this quarter. The website shows no proof of concept models at all. So how did they get 60 million dollars? With a fancy website, a social media team and advertising. You be the judge if that’s too easy.
