Own first impression on the darkest Dungeon on Nintendo Switch

in #nintendo7 years ago (edited)

Even though the Nintendo Switch Community is still very small here, I would like to share some of my own experiences.

First, note that the game is a role-playing game, but you shouldn't feel connected to your characters. At least not in the early hours of the game.
You start in an old run-down village and want to rebuild your family home. You will develop the village during the game. It is the basis for restoring and improving your heroes.

From here you can also start your excursions to the different dungeons. This is where tactical turn-based battles await you. I really like the gloomy environment. And in the first few hours you develop noticeably. Team composition and position within the team play an important role.
You can also discover useful combinations. However, the heroes die quite often. In some cases, you just let them die.

Back to the switch, how is it implemented?
I could not detect any technical problems. The game runs smoothly. You can switch the switch to standby at any time as usual and restart it at the same time.
The control system is not quite catchy at first. However, one adapts relatively quickly to the specialities. Which is very pleasant for me, the integration of the touch screen, which can be used without interruption and also directly with the controller.
I like the Touchscreen especially in the character Details.

The game concept fits perfectly on the switch for me. It is also worthwhile for a short run in the train or in bed. So if you have any doubts on which platform I recommend the switch version.
