Which way Africa?

Africa, thou art so great and adorable, blessed by the Almighty from time immemorial. But what do we have today? Who will save your dying soul?

The natural and mineral resources inherent in you are immeasurable,yet statistics show that 75% of Africans live in poverty, poverty has become a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the veins of majority of Africans.

This poverty doesn't just mean lack of money or material possessions, but the type of poverty we see in Africa today is "POVERTY OF THE MIND"
The assertion "the rich keeps getting richer while the poor keeps getting poorer" has become a popular and common saying in Africa both in words and in practice, why should it be so while God has blessed us with rich human and mineral resources?

Our elected representatives have become more rulers than leaders, everyone thinking of his own pocket,without looking at those who voted them into power. Oh my beloved continent, who will save your dying soul?

What about our African cultures? # header
It is indeed saddening that Africans have chosen the western culture which they feel is superior.what is the way forward? When shall we realise how richly endowed we are? A situation where our children are being punished in schools for speaking their native language, but are highly rewarded for being the best in foreign language, that's too pathetic
.
Charity they say, begins from he, but African parents of our generation have chosen to disassociate their wards totally from African values. Some of them feel teaching their children their mother tongue has become a taboo, rather they bring them up in foreign languages and even go to the extent of punishing their children if they ever make the mistake of speaking their native language, who is actually cheating who?
For how long shall we continue this way? For how long shall we come to realise that being an African is a blessing and not a curse?

I weep for my beloved Continent, I weep for Africa, for if we tell gently all that we shall one day have to tell, who will listen to our voices without laughter?.
