SAY NO TO JUNGLE JUSTICE (FICTION)

in #nigeria6 years ago

Tugging at the collar of his tunic, the frenzied woman shouted, "Thief! Thief!"
Daniel who was shrouded in confusion looked at the woman as she jumped up and down, bathing him with her spittle.

"Madam wetin be that?" came a husky voice from the inquisitive crowd.

"He came to buy pure water in my shop and made away with my #5000."

"Mr. Man, is that true?" another stray voice cracked from the surprised crowd.

"M.. Ma.. Madam, I don't know what you talking about," stuttered Daniel. Before he could finish the sentence, a hand had slipped into his pocket and came out with a sum of money which the crowd counted to be exact #5000.

Michael who had lost the chance to explain himself, was immediately stripped naked and it wasn't long when he was laid on the hot coal tar writhing in pain. He felt his broken bones squeaking. Swimming in the pool of his blood, he received yet another hit of the club from the angry mob, another and then another.

"Mummy! a little girl of about five came calling the woman that created the scene. She turned to answer her little girl, her face sweaty. She beheld her daughter beaming with a smile and watched her slipped 5000 from her pocket. "I picked it from your table, and went to hid it where people won't steal it."

Fussing with anger, she turned to quell the torture, but it was late as what she could only see wasn't David's badly battered body, but his ashes. He was burnt to ashes for the crime he didn't commit.

We can stop Jungle justice, no one knows who will be a victim. Lets live rightly and judge things accordingly, thanks.
