Nigeria election...

in #nigeria6 years ago

Dear Friends,

Please read to the end...

Nigeria’s population as at 2015 was 186M; with an estimated Youth population (i.e Above 18 Years Old) to be 50% of our total population which means approximately 93M Nigerians eligible to Vote.

However, it was recorded that we had only 67M registered voters and out of that, the total votes cast were 29M.

What this means, is that only 31% of our total population determined our fate as a nation & chose those who would rule over us for FOUR YEARS.

Wow!!!

This is indeed shocking & saddening, but gone are the days where we sit, vent & wallow in our problems as a country.

This is the time that we must rise, get involved & be a part of the change we desire.

So what does that mean? If you are 17yrs old today or older, it means you will be eligible to vote in 2019.

Know this, there is a difference between “I CANNOT vote & I WILL NOT vote”.

If you don’t have a PVC ... You CANNOT vote ... even if someone you wish you could vote for showed up on the ballot.

That simply means you have NO POWER to choose & NO VOICE to speak on Election Day. Quite honestly, it is that simple.

As you can see from the statistics above, approximately 40M people could possibly have access to their Voters Card, but still did not perform their civic duties … And then, another 30M of us have never voted before, neither have they collected their voters card.

And so, one of our tasks as TeamFD is not to only ENLIGHTEN & EDUCATE, but also help as many people to get their Voters Card.

And if you haven’t gotten yours, what are you waiting for?

We must lead by action & example.

There have been many complaints of incorrect addresses of Voter Registration Centre in the Local Government Areas

So this week, I need your help to confirm the EXACT LOCATION FOR VOTERS REGISTRATION in your Local Government area.

We will compile this information from each of us nationwide & publish it to make it easier for people to get their PVCs.

Here is the link that shows all present registration centers:

http://www.inecnigeria.org/?page_id=3085

Download it and look for the centre nearest to you and go there to confirm it’s correct. Confirm that an INEC official is present and registration for Voters Card is actually taking place (registration hours are between 9am - 3pm Mondays to Saturdays) and finally please note any complaints people might have registering.

Once that’s done, please fill this form and send it back to us as soon as you’ve confirmed the exact location as well as landmarks that can guide anyone going to register for their PVC.: https://goo.gl/forms/RVtMCU5SSYoFARt92
