About a month ago, the dreams of Onequality was laid bare before all and we set out on a journey to help a selected group improve and become much better steemians. All these was meant to fit into the larger puzzle of creating and fostering a strong Nigerian community on Steemit.

Although we were unable to achieve our grand dream of 1000 SP per member, a lot of valuable lessons were learned and great relationships were formed. We discovered that contrary to our plans, we didn't need a full month to teach the basics of Steemit. Once these basics were taken care of, the bulk of the task was down to each member's creativity.

The members learned to critique posts and express themselves even though it was somewhat a strange territory to the majority of them. We all agree that we had an amazing month together with a large chunk of them already do fine for themselves.

What's Next?

In v0.1 we discovered that our method of focusing on a small chunk of people for a whole month was just too slow and not scalable. The number of signups were skyrocketing daily and we were failing at the one task we shouldn't be failing at. Something had to be done, a new model was badly needed.

We are excited to note the strides being made by @xpency and @ehiboss in growing the community and it's our desire that we are able to harness all our individual efforts and together we can truly power our community to greater heights.

We would also like to thank @gbenga @timoshey @feekayo @dyce @woleybabz @mz-fisteganos @trillex @dammylohar and @arkintea for accepting to be a part of the initial experiment. Quite a big chunk of them have indicated their readiness to take on bigger responsibilities and will be doing just that. Their names have definitely been etched in the history books!

v0.2

Instead of making grand plans that we might end up being overwhelmed by, we've decided to bite only the much we can chew at any given time. With this approach, we intend to be able to move a lot faster, having a much bigger impact on the community we're trying to grow.

• It's our desire that the onequality account becomes the goto account for every Nigerian on Steemit hence the codename "Umbrella". We want to be able to cover all without any exception. This we intend to do by getting a list of every Nigerian account on Steemit and following them.

• Onequality will also be recruiting to help with the day to day activities that will be going on. Members will be approached based on their contributions to the wider Steemit community. In other words, recruitment will be based on merit.

We are very excited for what the future holds but as things stand, these two points are our immediate focus and as we get more concrete news to share, we'll make sure to let you know.
